I just wanted to thank you all for your nice comments and cards. Its been a rough couple of months with Buddy's illness. He fought until the end and I had the priviledge of being by his side every moment. He was the love of my life and I still can't believe that he is gone. He died of a rare disease called amyloidosis. All along we thought it was his lymphoma, but it was this other rare disease. It took them too long to diagnose it and by that time it was too far along. He died of sepsis, an infection after spending 3 weeks in the hospital. The doctor didn't have much hope that he could cure the amyloidosis, but Buddy was willing to do whatever it took. That included chemo therapy then stem cell transplant. I was so proud of him and will miss him with all my heart. There was standing room only at the service. We are going to have another memorial the 19th in the chesapeake bay, where we spent so much time, boating and partying with friends. We have about 10 to 15 boats, a bagpiper, banners and maybe even a plane with a banner, to celebrate Buddy's life. Everyone loved him so much. He was the life of all the parties on the bay. He is going to spend eternity in the bay, which he loved so much. All he kept saying in the hospital was that he would love to have one more boat ride and see one more sunset over the bay. Love, Maureen
