Maureen and I are going to Ireland Sept. 14-24. I would like to visit the area of Ireland where our fore fathers and mothers came from. I see on the genealogy forms on eggtrick, that Grandpop's grandfather, John Casey, and his grandmother, Helen MacKay, were both born in Ireland, then Grandpop's father was born in Pennslylvania in 1856. So they must have come over in the 1840's or 50's, definitely during the potato famine. Then grandpop's mother, Catherine Finnegan, was born in Wisconsin in 1860, but her parents, Lawrence Finnegan and Margaret (no last name) were born in Ireland. So we have, Casey's, Finnegan's, and MacKay's to look for in the old sod. Anybody have any ideas how or where to start looking?
