Ok, here's one that just hit me the other day...
Do you guys remember how Grandpop had only half a thumb on one hand? I can't remember which hand, but I remember as a kid always asking about it. I remember the kitchen on Magee street had a fan in the window into the alley way, and they always told me he stuck his thumb into that fan. I think they told me that to keep me from sticking my fingers into it, but I don't know. Anybody remember this?

Grandpop was a master carpenter, he had many equipment items in his garage and inside his furnace room in the basement. It is really a stretch and I do recall seeing it bandaged, but i think he sliced off doing some carpentry. I know it wasn't the fan.
I so remember Grandpop twiddling his thumb and his stump. I heard he lost it in a carpentry accident. I can't remember if it was his left or right thumb. Someone must remember. I'll ask my mother. Do you remember him taking his false teeth out and sitting them on the arm of the chair? Grandmom would yell at him. Apparently, they didn't fit well.

Man, thats funny. I don't remember the false teeth thing, but of course I was only 8 or 9 when Grandpop passed away. But I do remember the stumpy thumb! I also remember it being from a saw accident or something. Don't remember the fan story. I have a neighbor who's got half a pinky and despite being a different finger, its always reminded me of Grandpop.
