I remember this clearly. We continue this tradition today -- "The Jug". Filled with at least double strength Gin and Tonic. (not sure if that's what they used to drink or not). I also remember taking the used cups (dead soldiers) and making sand castles with them. (little drink cup sand castles).
These days when we do it however, we've given up the dixie cups and moved up to the small clear plastic cups. This is just because they make better sand castles (not because they're a little bigger and hold more Jug Juice). ... It's all about the kids right?
GIN AND TONIC......................always the casey's favorite drink for the beach...................i don't think they drank anything ulse (on the beach of course) true we always had lots of cups for sandcastles hahahhaha
I think we had a few extra jugs than usual last year after Larry's little fiasco! But I definately remember this tradition and, as Larry said, we continue it to this day!
Hi Kathleen, sure wasn't there a thermos involved? I remember the cart with the booze on it at Uncle Bill Faunce's place. I remember at least once us older kids going there when the parents were all on the beach and us fixing ourselves a few drinks. We were so bad.
