I've got a little history on Grandpops family that Aunt Mae relayed to me yesterday;
Daniel (Grandpop) had two older brothers John (Oldest), then Lawrence, then Joe, then three girls, Maggie, Ann (Mahoney later), then Kate (Doran later). (I'm not sure what order.) Lawrence had 3 sons, Vincent Casey, who was in the service and was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. He was not injured though. Aunt Mae thinks that he may still be alive. Larry who was an electrician, who was killed while working on one of the electrical poles. The third was Joseph, who joined the priesthood. Ann, Grandpops sister, had 1 son and 2 daughters. Her husband died of TB and all three children died of TB also. She then took in her two brothers Dan and Joe when their Mother died. (They must have been younger). Aunt Mae remembers Aunt Ann's two daughters taking her for her first perm and also to the dentist for the first time. They were 4 or 5 years older than her. They must have died later in life from the TB then. Maggie had a son and a daughter. They moved to New York. Her husband, Jack I think, fell down an elevator shaft and survived but was crippled. Next was Kate. She had two girls who married, divorced and may still live on Ditman Street in Mayfair. Aunt Kass probably knows, but Mom thinks that one of them may have died. That picture that someone posted of Catherine Finnegan made my Mom laugh. She said that she looks identical to Aunt Kate. Anyhow, this was what she remembered. I thought it was interesting.

For some perspective, I thought I'd transcribe some of the dates from the geneology Uncle Larry (or Larry) uploaded to match up with what Maureen wrote above:
Grandpop's brother John - born June 1884
sister Maggie (Margaret) - born July 1885, married Thomas Coleman (see below)
brother Lawrence - born September 1886
sister Ann (Annie) - born January 1889, married Robert Mahoney
sister Kate (Catherine) - born October 1890, married Frank Doran
brother Joe (Joseph P) - born 1902
According to the geneology sheet, there were a couple other siblings:
Helen A. (Ellie) born September 1887, died 11/6/1929
Matthew F. - born March 1895
In addition, there were apparently 5 other siblings that either died in childbirth or in their infancy.
Aunt Mae said that Granpop's sister Maggie's husband was named Jack. The geneology says her husband was Thomas T. Coleman, but then in the margin there is a lable "other spouse" and just the word "Stanley". Maybe Maggie's first husband died or they got divorced and her second husband was Jack Stanley? It makes sense that Aunt Mae would only remember Maggie's second (last) husband.
What great information. Its cool (and scary) to know that dad (Uncle Larry) has a cousin who was in Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41! I'll have to ask him if he knew that... he was only 7 at the time!
This is really interesting. I'll pass this info along to my Mom. She is 87, her short term memory is not good, but her long term seems pretty accurate. My Dad was like that too before he died. He couldn't remember things that happened yesterday, but he could tell me stories from his childhood back in North Dakota and Nebraska (his cowboy days)
Maureen, That's great history. Thanks for getting it all down. I'm glad Mom could remember so much. Wasn't one of the cousins from Grandpop's side an actress who played Blondie in the Dagwood and Blondie movies? I think her last name was Singleton and that she recently died in her 90's.Anyone else know anything about her? Her name could have been Penny Singleton.
its possible. Her birth name is Marianna Dorothy Agnes Letitia McNulty (thats a mouthful!) and she was born in Philly in 1908. Her father was Benny McNulty, but that name doesn't ring any bells with me (not that THAT means anything).
