My Mom reminded me of this yesterday, When she first brought my Dad home to meet the family, Grandpop and Uncle Putts took him over to some little dive that they frequented when they wanted oysters. They figured that they would see what Walter was made of. To shock him, they would swallow an oyster, raw, then apparantly there were some kind of small red crabs running around on the platter, alive, then they would pot the live crab into their mouths and swallow it. My Dad was not the least bit squemish, he did the same thing. They decided, at that point, that he was a keeper. They were great friends after that. He fit right in. (I'm not sure what kind of crabs she is talking about, does anyone know?)

  • Dang! I heard about the oysters (on this site actually), but not about the crabs. I mean sushi is one thing, but LIVE crabs?? Talk about fresh!!
    • I have no clue what kind they were. I've never heard of that. I'm sure they weren't full size ones.
