Update

Hello Everyone - so happy to see the shore pictures from the 2009 picnic - everyone looks well and happy and good to see smiling faces. Thought I would update on Eggtrick since there hasn't been much activity. Here in the UAE, we've made much progress since arriving last year. The recession has certainly hit Dubai (which has been in the news recently) but just like in the States things are moving on, slowly. we were in the States in July for a short visit and I apologize for not visiting the shore, but it was just too busy for us to do so. I was a bit selfish in spending all of our time with mom, Joe and James as you can understand. Daniel is doing well in school and just returned from a 10-day school break for a religious holiday and UAE National Day (their version of the 4th of July). There was fireworks and parades and lots of fun - the school winter break starts December 18th, Daniel's 8th birthday. Joey is coming for the holidays on the 16th and we can't wait. James wasn't able to make the trip as he is starting a new job with the School District and is waiting for orientation to start so he couldn't make the commitment, but I'm hoping we'll have him here for a visit early next year. Mom will not take the long plane ride to visit and since her fall in February and shoulder injury she's afraid to do so, thinking something will happen to her. I do understand her thinking. We see each other on Skype though so we do stay in touch. Thank God for technology today. Well I hope each and every one of you enjoys the holidays this year and hop you get a chance to relax and enjoy. We're thinking of all of you and the fine memories of our younger days at Magee Street. Hope you all stay in touch. Much love to you all - love Donna

  • So good to hear from you, Donna. Yes, Dubai has been in the news so much lately and I've been wondering how it is going over there for you. Your update sounds like it is going really well. Sorry to hear your mom took a fall in February. That is scary. Great you all have Skype to communicate with. I just got onto Skype lately and did talk with Maureen on it recently. Tried to talk to my mother on Thanksgiving at Maureen's house, they could see us but we couldn't see them. It is so great to keep in touch and see loved ones over it. Call me anytime if you feel like it. Joyce Meuse in Pacific Grove. Maureen is Maureen Campbell in Annapolis, MD. I wonder if any other of our cousins on Skype?

Wish we could go back to our youth and see everyone all together again. Much love, Joyce
