Joyce and Maureen - Sorry for the confusion on the dates when your grandfather's family died - that means they died AFTER 1930 - there just wasn't room to write the word "after" in the small space. And it's an obvious typo on my part - on the Casey family tree his birthday should be 1896 not 1987!!!! Sorry about that. There are probably other mistakes either because I mis-typed the information or mis-read it. At any rate, it gives you some idea of the families, who is related to whom, where they lived, the work they did, etc.

What you could do for me is to add the names, birth dates, marriage dates, children's names, birth dates, etc. of your generation and your children's generation - not just your children but the rest of the Casey cousins. When my mom died, my "pipeline" dried up with all the social information women tend to pass on to one another. My dad tried to keep up, but was not nearly as successful at transfering the information to me as my mom had been :)

Also, any other corrections that need to be made, if you will get the information to me, I'll make the changes on my copy and we can then upload corrected information. Also I'll add any new information.

Glad to know you each received the papers - Maureen, let me know what your mom thinks of it, please. I'd enjoy getting her input.

Joannie, Thank you so much for sending that family tree. My Mom has it. Hopefully she will give it back so I can copy it. I really didn't get a chance to look at it before she asked for it.

Thanks so much for sending the information on the families. It is so interesting. I have so many questions. Like why did so many of Grandpop Casey's family die in 1930? Five of his siblings seem to have died that year. I'll ask my mom if she knows.
And your son, Steven was born the day after my son, Shone. Also the day of my dad's death is wrong. He died on Dec. 13, 2005, not the 20th. And Grandpop Casey was born at the very end of 1896, Dec. 29, 1896, not 1897. I'm sure their are many details that are a bit wrong.
I'll try to scan the pages and put them up here.
Thanks again for your efforts and for mailing it to me and Maureen.

Hi Joanie, I am two and a half hours north of San Luis Obispo. My son Shone lived there for four years and we visited a number of times. We loved that area, especially the back country with its rolling hills. We drive through there on our way to L.A. which we used to go to every summer. I can remember some really hot weather there. Our climate never gets too cold or too hot thanks to the Pacific Ocean. Similar to San Francisco.

Thats so funny that you happened to be behind the bus. I was shocked when that big bus pulled up. It was so nice having everyone at my house.

That would be great if you and Joyce and the boys could get together. I just love it, where she lives. I would love to take a trip, again, soon.

Now that you mention it, I do remember your dad had Tommy's keys in his pocket. My sons and I drove over from Severna Park to get to your house that day and after RT 29 I think it was, we began following this big tour bus and followed it and followed it right to your street. We thought it was really strange that such a large bus would be in a neighborhood like yours. When we pulled up at your house, we were right behind it and the whole Casey clan was getting off! That was such a fun day - my boys still remember how good everyone was to them, they - and I - had such fun. Will be interested if Joyce and Steven do live near one another. Maybe if I get out to visit him and they are near each other, we can get to visit together.

That was so funny when Tommy jumped in the pool. Remember, my Dad put Tommy's keys in his pocket accidently and all of us spent hours looking for them. Knowing my Dad, I finally asked him to look in his pocket. That wasn't the first time he did something like that.
Sounds like your son lives near Joyce. What a coincidence.

Hi Joyce and Maureen - I remember each of you quite well - of course it's been a long time hasn't it? Joyce, I remember you visiting your folks when your oldest son, Orion, was just an infant. My son Steve is in Santa Maria, near St. Luis Obispo. He had been in the Berkeley area for quite some time, then in Pittsburgh, he just moved back to Santa Maria. Maureen I remember coming to your house in Maryland for a family reunion when Tommy Merrick showed up in his dress whites and jumped in your pool before anyone could throw him in as he knew that's what would happen! So good to hear from each of you.

Hi Joan, Good to see you on the family site. I'm Marie's other daughter. I remember visiting you in Maryland when I was still at home. I've lived in California for the last 35 years. I was wondering what town your son lives in. I also have two sons, 32 and 34. Is he in Northern, Central or Southern California? If he's close I could look him up. He's my third cousin, after all.

Hey Joannie. I didn't know your first name was Dorothy. Good to see you on the site. What have you been up too. Isn't this site great........... Do you remember me, Mae's youngest daughter.
